The 8th of January was a big day for us! After long weeks of preparation we led the very first Living Library Vienna project. More than twenty kids between 10 and 14 years of the ALF School had the opportunity to “borrow” our Living Books and choose between seven life stories on a wide variety of topics – from intersex, to vegan nutrition and Muslim beliefs. Big thanks to the Living Books and the ALF School for the great cooperation and also to the European Solidarity Corps for the support. We are already looking forward to the next event, because it is incredibly valuable if we all talk to each other instead of just talking about each other!

Der 8. Januar war ein großer Tag für uns! Nach langen Wochen der Vorbereitung haben wir das allererste Projekt der Living Library Vienna geleitet. Mehr als 20 Kinder der ALF-Schule zwischen 10 und 14 Jahren hatten dabei die Möglichkeit, unsere Living Books “auszuleihen”. Sie konnten dabei zwischen sieben Lebensgeschichten zu einer Vielzahl von Themen wählen – von Intersexualität, über vegane Ernährung bis hin zu muslimischen Überzeugungen. Ein großes Dankeschön geht an unsere Living Books und die ALF-Schule für die gute Zusammenarbeit und auch an das Europäische Solidaritätskorps für die finanzielle Unterstützung. Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächste Veranstaltung, denn es ist unglaublich wertvoll, wenn wir alle miteinander, anstatt nur übereinander zu reden!
